Spring is finally here! Time to say goodbye to the oversized coats, the heavy layers, and the chunky knits. It’s the perfect time for wardrobe organization and building a seasonal spring capsule. I look forward to wearing lighter blazers and open collars so that I can layer my necklaces this spring.
This is my second spring capsule wardrobe. Last year, I built it when it was already warm so that the items were more light and summery. This year, it’s still cold. Therefore, I’ve mainly mixed my autumn/winter wardrobe and items from last year’s spring capsule.
Capsule Wardrobe Planning – Finding Inspiration
Every new season, I go over my Pinterest mood board and get inspired. This board helps me choose items and create outfits for my seasonal capsule wardrobe. This spring, I’m all about trench coats, cardigans, tailored trousers, and romantic blouses. I also love layering tank tops with button-ups in warmer weather.
Choosing Items for my Spring Capsule Wardrobe
If you are using my capsule wardrobe planner, you probably know I’ve created a set of rules to help me decide which items will go into my capsule wardrobe. The core of this capsule is my transitional capsule wardrobes from last year. I added knits from my winter capsule and new pieces I bought recently. I’ve kept the same color palette using neutrals, black, and a touch of green and blue.
New additions to this capsule are a Peter Pan collared blouse, cream-cropped denim, and a beige cardigan. My latest thrifted additions include an oversized denim jacket and a short trench jacket.

Items in the Spring Capsule
Blazers & Jackets
I love wearing blazers in brighter colors and lighter fabrics when spring comes. I’ve incorporated a pastel blue lyocell blazer and beige linen cropped blazer in this capsule. I’ve also added my trench coat and my thrifted trench style jacket.
Knitwear
As I’ve mentioned before, one of the things I’m excited about the most for spring is layering my jewelry, especially my necklaces. Therefore, I’ve stored my turtleneck knits and chose knits with an open neckline and a cardigan.
T-Shirts
Another item I missed wearing during winter was my t-shirts. I love wearing them with a blazer or tailored trousers for a smart-casual look. I chose three basic t-shirts, a long-sleeved striped t-shirt and a graphic print t-shirt.
Tops & Blouses
Button-ups are a great layering piece I love wearing all year. I wear them under knits in winter, and in spring, I can wear them under a vest, over a tank top, or without other layers. The current capsule includes two cotton long-sleeved blouses and a Peter Pan collar embroidered blouse.
Trousers
I’ve added a pair of wide-leg denim and a cropped beige denim with the other jeans I wear all year. I’ve also incorporated two pairs of tailored trousers in black and khaki.
Shoes
The shoes I’ve chosen are the same ones from my autumn capsule. They include a pair of Converse and a white pair of sneakers. I’ve added black oxfords and brown croc Chelsea boots.
I did not include loungewear, sportswear, pajamas, or accessories other than shoes in my capsule.
Outfit Combinations
One of my rules when building a capsule wardrobe is that I need to incorporate each item in at least two outfits to include it in the capsule. After creating these outfits, I returned to the initial items I chose and removed those I hadn’t used. Some of these outfits are inspired by my spring inspiration board. Outfits I wore last spring or autumn also inspired me in the current capsule.
Future Plans
As I mentioned before, this year’s spring capsule differs from the previous one. Mainly because it is still cold here. As the weather gets warmer, I will gradually add lighter, summery items to the capsule, such as – short sleeve button-ups, cotton and linen trousers, and dresses.
